Walk a new path.

Reasons clients come to see me.

Worry and Anxiety

You worry that your schedule won’t go as planned, or that something will go wrong. You often feel nervous and on edge. You may experience sensory sensitivity or overload, overwhelm, difficulty making decisions or meeting deadlines. Perhaps your sleep is impacted.

Recent Diagnosis

Perhaps you have recently received a diagnosis of ASD. You are feeling unclear about how this will impact your life. You have many questions; What would life have been like had I known sooner? How will I be perceived? What does this mean moving forward?

Social Anxiety

You feel nervous and uncomfortable interacting with other people. You worry people are judging you. You keep quiet not to say the wrong thing. You replay social interactions over and over again, reviewing what you could have done differently. You worry that you are not interpreting information correctly.

Anger

You often feel frustrated, you may even yell or become outwardly upset towards others. You feel awful and guilty but feel you lacked control over your actions.

Achieving Goals

You would like to be able to build friendships, be more involved socially, perhaps find employment that aligns with you or pursue college or university, but are not sure how to go about it all.

We will start by getting a clear understanding of what you are struggling with, how these struggles relate to each other and how they impact you. From there, we will set goals and develop a plan for therapy.

I work from a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy approach, which means we will focus on understanding how your thoughts, feelings and behaviours relate.

You can expect to

  • Learn the theory behind the techniques that are being suggested to you.

  • Learn new skills.

  • Develop opportunities to reach your goals.

  • Get to know your triggers.

  • Discover new ways of relating to yourself, others, and your life.

  • Experiment with new ways of doing things.
